Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated senior research associate to join our efforts in discovery and development of novel cancer therapeutics. The successful candidate will use a wide range of techniques to characterize potential tumor targets and to develop therapeutic approaches. Major responsibilities will include experimental design and execution to evaluate drug candidates with both in vitro assays and preclinical animal models, and to present study results in group discussions and team meetings.
Qualifications
•BS/MSc in cell biology, cancer biology, immunology or related disciplines with >10 years laboratory experience, training in the biopharmaceutical industry or academic institutions.
•Broad knowledge in the fields of oncology and cell biology. Experience in cancer immunotherapy drug discovery is a plus.
•Excellence in tissue culture techniques is a must. Hands on experience in primary immune cell culture, generation of stable and transiently transfected cell lines is strongly preferred.
•Comprehensive knowledge in developing and executing cell-based assays including (but not limited to) ADCC, CDC, proliferation, apoptosis and various cytotoxicity assays is required.
•Extensive experience in basic immunology techniques such as flow cytometry and cytokine analysis with applications on antibody screening and characterization.
•Proficiency with molecular biological techniques such as primer design, PCR, plasmid construction, and sequence analysis. Hands on experience in recombinant antibody cloning and production is a plus.
•Familiarity in protein purification, column chromatography and protein characterization procedures such as SDS-PAGE, peptide mapping, Western Blot and ELISA.
•Hands on experience with techniques involved in preclinical in vivo models for oncology is highly desirable.
•Proficiency in application softwares such as MS word, excel, powerpoint, FlowJo, Vector NTI and Graphpad Prism. Ability to independently process and analyze data to deduct valuable scientific conclusions is required.
•Must be organized, self-motivated, ability to multi-task and deliver results in a timely manner to drive projects forward.
•Good communication skills are essential.
