Senior Business Analyst (MPAR)
The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for leading the Inventory Analyst business activities for forecasting and provides subject matter expertise. The role requires key leadership capabilities and strong business acumen. This individual will ensure that all primary responsibilities of the user community can be completed efficiently and effectively using the MPAR software. Accountabilities: Participate in initial system setup and administration activities in order to understand data configuration options for later application for business use; Responsible for developing and evaluating quantitative analytics for the MPAR system; Monitors the system and makes recommendations on strategy changes as a result of analysis; Acts as a senior level resource on analytic/quantitative techniques; Communicates forecasted sales and actual sales results to the team monthly to ensure consistent execution across the department; Develop, implement and verify system business rules and approval workflows, planning and forecasting models and system parameters necessary for execution of the system; Assist in user acceptance testing; Assist in resolving functional problems or issues that may arise during pilot and post implementation; Strong communication and presentation skills; Provide technical guidance to other staff members and actively engages other staff members in the project as part of change management; Highly proficient with analytical tools and data mining; Perform other duties as assigned.
Advanced Business or Statistics degree is preferred; a minimum of 2 years experience in statistics/forecasting at Sterling and/or a minimum of 5 years statistics/forecasting experience at a large retail company; extensive analytical skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; detail orientation; ability to set priorities; PC experience, especially in Windows, MS Word and Excel and Business Intelligence Tools (or some information query tool). Experience with Oracle strongly preferred.
