Role Description
•Responsible for all activities and processes involved in;
oPayroll
oAccounts Payable
oGeneral Ledger
oMonth End Close
•Identifies and oversees process improvements on these systems
•Includes documentation and compliance for all policies, procedures and controls.
•Is accountable for account reconciliations and ad hoc analysis of balance sheet and P&L items.
•Assures accounting controls are in all related processes and coordinates local audit activities.

Responsibilities
•Oversees the reconciliation of all bank accounts and preparation and audit of materials which require analyses of supporting documents.
•Is the technical expert over systems, documentation and compliance for all policies, procedures and controls. Is accountable for account reconciliations and ad hoc analysis of balance sheet and P&L items.
•Manages the closing of the general ledger on a monthly basis.
•Oversees all prepaid, accruals other than revenue, and other miscellaneous accounts in the general ledger, including preparing monthly schedules supporting the balances.
•Investigates and provides information relating to general ledger account detail to all levels of management, including making decision on account classification and corrections and follow-up; reviews accounts if new coding has incurred and does the changes.
•Extracts general ledger information; compiles benefits other special reports; and assists with special projects.
•Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures.
•Supervises the Accounts Payable department and is responsible for all associated activities including vendor communications.
•Supervises the Payroll department and subsequent General Ledger entries.
•Ensures cross training is maintained throughout the entire Department.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
•Education: Finance BA/BS required; MBA/MS preferred
•Experience: Two to four years leading team activities in a financial environment; At least five years in a manufacturing/cost accounting environment
•Certificates or Licenses: CMA or CPA desirable
•Manufacturing plant experience
•Work experience with or for DCAA
•Experience with FAR and CAS
Communication Skill – Colleague has strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups and individuals

Technical Skills:
Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Coost Accounting Standards (CAS) experience preferred.
JD Edwards, PRISM, SAP experience preferred. Interaction with Government Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) auditors is a common occurance, taking place at intermittent times.

Physical Position Requirements:
This job is mostly performed sitting in an office setting. Some lifting of file boxes is required. Travel to other St. Louis sites is required. This travel is by car and can be 26 to 55 miles round trip.

Position requires regular onsite attendance – this position cannot be performed on a remote or telecommute basis on a temporary, short or long term basis.
Must have the ability to simultaneously multi-task across multiple capabilities and functions and handle multiple competing priorities and requirements, including performing site and functional responsibilities, responding to frequent e-mail and phone communications and attending multiple meetings and conference calls. Note that these activities may not be time bound to core hours or presence at the site.
Must have the ability to work effectively under and manage to strict production, time and performance deadlines.
Must be willing and able to work beyond the hours typically defined as a “regular” workday, which may or may not include weekends and holidays.
