Role Description
This position will lead a technical team to develop CAR-T (chimeric antigen receptor based cellular therapeutics) technology, including advancing and optimizing core technologies to enhance efficacy and safety of these therapeutics in addition to producing research scale materials for in vivo studies. This individual will work in close collaboration with the pharmaceutical sciences group to establish research methods that will assist in process development to facilitate transition into clinical supply manufacturing.

Responsibilities
• Scientific experience and leadership in generation of CAR/cellular based therapeutics.

• Interest and experience in process development for cellular based therapies.

• Track record of people management skills through direct line supervision or as leaders of project teams.

• Outstanding leadership behaviors and the ability to collaborate with and mentor others is a must.

• Interact heavily with Rinat, Pharmaceutical Science groups and other partner line groups.

Qualifications
Training & Education

• PhD degree in Oncology/ Immunology/ Pharmacology with at least 8 years postgraduate experience in biotech or biopharma industry.

Prior Experience

• Knowledge and direct experience of modern laboratory methodology in molecular biology, cell culture, antibody generation, and cellular immunology.

• Experience with viral based systems (lentivirus, adenovirus, or murine retrovirus) and genome engineering (zinc fingers, TALEN, or CRISPR) are required.

• Strong publication record and an understanding of the oncology disease area.

• Excellent written, oral communication skills.

• Good collaboration experience both in small and cross functional team environments.

• Direct experience as the lead in bringing one or more pre-clinical project(s) through early stages of clinical development.

•Prior experience in setting laboratories and building an organization is preferred.
