The incumbent will be the buyer for the respective division responsible for dedicated tactical procurement activities.
The successful candidate will:
• Manage local tactical purchasing execution • Manage transition within purchasing portfolio • Assure continuous improvement of tactical purchasing processes • Support target achievement such as savings, inventory reduction, working capital improvements, etc. • Optimize tactical purchasing activities within his/her area of responsibility • Understand and fulfill the requirements of customers • Support the realization of Procurement targets through successful implementation of sourcing team results • Initiate local request for proposals, quotes and information • Execute local purchasing and order fulfillment management • Improve tactical purchasing by optimizing order processing and delivery time, cost and quality within his/her area of responsibility under consideration of internal customer requirements • Active project engagement within country or working groups • Procure efficient supply • Prepare, negotiate and finalize local agreements in his/her responsible area • Identify, select, evaluate and approve suppliers in his/her tactical area • Support the Sourcing Teams/Project Teams • Manage of daily issues such as supply, quality, service, etc. • Continuous improvement/streamlining of product and vendor portfolio in Procurement • Develop and implement local procurement strategies for the product portfolio assigned to his/her area of responsibility • Monitor compliance on all procurement related activities to assure that business and ethical standards are consistently maintained and that Bayer's purchasing conduct meets the highest standard of integrity. The successful candidate will posses: • Bachelors degree in a technical and/or business discipline • Strong negotiating, communication, influencing and problem solving skills • Demonstrated analytical decision making skills and creative thought process ability • Sound knowledge of business practices, financial tools and Procurement policies and procedures • Fluency in English • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees • Strong knowledge best practice tactical purchasing tools and methods Preferred skills: • Bachelors degree in a technical and/or business discipline or several years of experience • Specific knowledge of Tactical Purchasing, Quality Management Systems (ISO/QS9000), Regulatory Requirements and Logistics Processes, Principles and Practices
