Role Description
The candidate will support research programs in the CTI pipeline by leading the CTI-Boston Biotherapeutics Technology Group, a group of 8-12 scientists with expertise in phage display, antibody engineering, protein expression and purification.
Responsibilities include establishing and executing on aspects of antibody generation and characterization including screening, protein expression/purification and antibody engineering. Further technology development and automated method development for antibody selection, screening and optimization will be expected.
The candidate is expected to embrace and embody the entrepreneurial spirit and biotech-like culture, values and goals of the CTI and contribute to creating an exciting, collaborative, productive and scientifically rigorous working environment.

Responsibilities
The candidate will work closely with the Site Head, CTI project leads and the technology team to ensure accelerated delivery of monoclonal antibodies for CTI’s drug discovery programs. The candidate will actively participate on project teams and advise both CTI scientists and academic partners on all aspects of antibody technologies. The candidate will collaborate closely with other members of CTI-Boston, CTI scientists at other sites, and academic partners to ensure aggressive project deliverables, goals and timelines are met. The candidate will present results and provide recommendations internally and with partners and advise and lead members of the group on their projects. The candidate will provide expertise in biologics drug discovery.

Qualifications
-Ph.D. with >2 years postdoctoral experience and 5+ years drug discovery experience with therapeutic antibodies/proteins in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
-Demonstrated record of scientific accomplishment in development of biologics
-Ability to succeed in a small, interactive, non-traditional drug-discovery environment

Technical Skill Requirements
-Experienced technology leader with demonstrated accomplishments in drug discovery of therapeutic antibodies or protein-based therapeutics
-Extensive experience with assay development, protein expression/purification and associated technologies
-Experience with phage display derived antibodies preferred
-Experience with antibody drug conjugates an advantage
-Strength in collaboration; able to work effectively across company and academic settings
-Strong communication skills, written and oral
