Role Description
Develops and monitors project plans with R&D subject matter experts. Responsible for negotiating contracts and terms. Accountable for all project costs and reporting. Prepares R&D budget and forecast for the department.

Responsibilities
• Develops detailed project plans with subject matter experts within R&D, Regulatory affairs and Medical Affairs.

• Assigns costs to each step within the project. Monitors the expense and reports results within operational timelines of R&D and Finance groups.

• Prepares and regularly updates annual R&D budget and monthly department forecasts.

• Prepares monthly forecasts for all R&D projects.

• Supports negotiations of R&D contracts with vendors.

• Monitors all R&D contracts for compliance and reports issues to senior management.

• Codes R&D invoices for proper tracking of expenses.

• Tracks and plans departmental resource hours.

• Supports the Earned Value Management system used for government contracts by assisting with budgeting and providing actual spend on a monthly basis.

• Supports and presents results at department meetings.

• Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures and provide feedback to R&D teams to improve processes.

• Extracts general ledger information; compiles reports and assists with special projects.

• Prepares ROI’s\NPV’s and financial models to evaluate R&D projects.

• Familiarity with Pharmaceutical Research and Development processes and regulatory structures leading to drug product approval.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

This office position requires sitting, standing and walking. It may require evenings and weekends from time to time to meet deadlines.
