Position Description:
Covanta Energy Corporation is an internationally recognized owner and operator of large-scale Energy-from-Waste and renewable energy projects and a recipient of the Energy Innovator Award from the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
Covanta’s 44 Energy-from-Waste facilities provide communities with an environmentally sound solution to their solid waste disposal needs by using that municipal solid waste to generate clean, renewable energy. Annually, Covanta’s modern Energy-from-Waste facilities safely and securely convert approximately 20 million tons of waste into 9 million megawatt hours of clean renewable electricity and almost 9 billion pounds of steam that are sold to a variety of industries.
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will directly supervise the day-to-day activities of mechanical maintenance staff including; monitoring the distribution of work, training and development and staff performance management. Specifically, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees and contractors, monitoring preventive maintenance programs, overseeing facility repairs, maintenance planning, and managing the execution of capital projects and outages taken for the purposes of equipment overhaul and repair.
Position Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have a solid background in power and/or industrial plant maintenance, preferably with a minimum of 5 years of first-line supervisory responsibilities and experience in planning and coordinating major maintenance/overhaul projects. Should possess solid administrative and computer skills and experience with Excel, and computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) applications such as PeopleSoft and/or Maximo a plus. A combination of technical training and/or work experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
