The primary responsibility for this position is to develop and ensure execution of the Finite Production Schedule, and related Process Orders to support the finished good production plan. Plan must optimize inventory goals and production efficiency. Considering strategic inventory and purchasing plans and objectives provided by Department Manager and Headquarter Product Supply, incumbent will schedule deliveries, release purchase orders and implement production materials inventory plans for materials as assigned.
The incumbent will: • Determine and establish rolling 12 month capacity and labor requirements for all assigned production areas to meet the following criteria: • Produce product to support customer service needs • Optimize manufacturing resource utilization • Achieve established inventory goals • Monitor Quality Assurance (QA) releases of manufactured goods; provide follow up to expedite when there are issues that could delay shipment or production. • Evaluate actual production vs. current planning values to determine areas for possible improvements and communicate all system data changes to the Master Data Analyst. • Ensure execution of scheduled production, making adjustments to the plan as required by changing circumstances. • Coordinate Finite resource requirements including manpower, machines, and related resources. Communicate and recommend adjustment regarding overtime, capacity or labor issues. • Responsible for managing inventory. Take action to eliminate obsolete inventory, address slow moving materials. • Analyze and implement opportunities for inventory reduction through purchasing strategies, cycle times, and process improvements. • Determine production material buy quantities and provide data and vendor performance information for production components inventory to support CCD (Consumer Care Division) sales, production and inventory plans and objectives for assigned materials. • Develop and implement inventory plans based on MRP requirements, production, inventory goals, departmental guidelines, and procurement objectives, contracts, etc. for assigned materials. • Monitor vendor delivery, price and quality performance and recommend corrective action as required. • Substitute for Buyer if not available (vacation, etc.) to facilitate urgent communications for assigned materials. • Fully qualified professional who may supervise other professionals. • Train others at the entry level. The successful candidate will have: • Bachelors degree plus a minimum of 2 plus relevant years of experience.in production planning • ERP experience • Strong organizational and communication skills, time management and proven computer skills • Ability to deal with fast paced multiple demands, and very dynamic situations. • Spreadsheet and related PC skills essential. • Ability to maintain integrated computer systems and related data accuracy. Preferred Skills: • Bachelors degree plus a minimum of 4 plus relevant years of experience.in production planning • MBA/MS plus 0-3 plus years relevant years of experience in production planning required; or PhD with 0 experience or no degree plus 10-12 years of applicable business experience. • FDA regulated industry experience • APICS certification • Certification in Purchasing (NAPM) • Previous supervisory experience
