Position Summary:
Penske Logistics is looking for warehouse associates to become part of an excellent team with the nation’s largest grocery store chain. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.

Penske Warehouse -Inventory Clerks are responsible for the daily/weekly maintaining of inventory counts, inventory code dates and expirations, and the rotation of product in storage. Inventory clerks are assigned specific areas of responsibility by the operations supervisor and is responsible for assuring the proper product is accurate in all pick slots.

Please be aware that this warehouse work is conducted in a cold storage facility, and requires leather shoes or boots to be worn.

Major Responsibilities:
- Maintains inventory records, assuring pallets and cases are correct
- Accurately match numbers & letters, assuring appropriate number of cases on a pallet, and in a pick location or stock location
- Check stock items for expiration dates and ensure proper rotation is maintained within the racks. Create reports for product nearing expiration dates.
- Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system, to identify blind loads, create cross dock loads, logging product locations
- Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complies with all safety requirements
- Complete daily logs
- Communicate with associates from other shifts
- Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
- Uses computer to enter records
- Senior level inventory clerks may manage changes of product order, tagging and pulling of recalled items, adjusting inventory levels during receiving process, managing returns or products, and coordinating special instructions for disposition of a product.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of warehousing or material-handling (using hand/power tools and hand truck) equipment experience required
- Prior inventory or receiving experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior use of warehouse management systems and scanners preferred
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn in-house systems required
- Willingness to work in a cold storage warehouse environment with -20 degrees F to 34 degrees F environment for long periods of time is required.
- Must be able to work varied schedule including weekend and early morning shifts
- Flexible to work overtime preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English required
- Ability to follow directions, and basic math skills required
- Requires the ability to pay close attention to details, meet deadlines, and work with difficult individuals
- Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.

-Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop and lift up to and including 40lbs frequently and 90lbs occasionally. Must be able to lift, stack, push, and pull boxes.

-Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
-While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to stand for long periods of time of at least 8-12 hours; walk; sit and talk or hear
