Your Tasks and Responsibilities

Related to this position, Bayer offers the opportunity to:
Design and evaluate emergency relief systems such as pressure safety valves and rapture disks for new and existing plants
Design, analyze and optimize highly integrated processes as well as basic unit operations such as distillation columns or heat exchangers;
Support capital projects as a Project / Process engineer with the material and energy balances, process specification for equipment, instruments and piping;
Work well with all levels of the manufacturing organizations as well as our Bayer Technology Services counterparts in Germany in order to consistently generate interest in new projects;
Define the scope of projects, write and execute project proposals and communicate project results to the customer.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer Business and Technology Services (BBTS) seeks an incumbent who possesses:
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related field and up to two or more (0-2+) years of experience OR;
Excellent understanding of chemical engineer fundamentals (chemical reactions, unit operations, process control concepts);
Ability to analyze highly integrated processes based on process documentation (PFD, P&ID)
Demonstrated leadership and people skills to work in teams;
Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) effectively and promptly with all levels of the organization;
Willingness to travel (20-50%). Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related field and six or more (6+) years of experience OR;
Master of Science in Chemical Engineering or related field and up to four or more (0-4+) years of experience OR;
PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field and up to two (0-2) years of experience;
Previous experience in pressure or process and plant safety.
