Role Description
To provide technical analysis of the standard setting activities of the FASB/SEC/IFRS; to ensure that accounting policies and procedures are up-to-date and responsive; to support technical accounting training programs for the world-wide finance organization; and to assist with the implementation of new accounting standards.

Responsibilities
-Tracking activity of Standard Setting in the US (and of the IASB), analyzing potential impact to Pfizer, preparing comment letters.
-Preparing or revising Controller’s Accounting Policies and Procedures to reflect new accounting pronouncements or guidance, to improve clarity or to respond to changing circumstances.
-Implementing new accounting standards.
-Supporting technical accounting training programs.
-Special projects, as identified, concerning accounting and reporting matters.
-Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and seminars and reading professional publications.

Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
-MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting a plus
-CPA
-10+ years relevant work experience (public/private combination preferred)
-Strong oral and written communication skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management
