Position Description
We seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for the operation and inspection of various power plant systems, including but not limited to, boilers and associated equipment such as fans, grates, ash, air pollution control systems, water treatment demineralizer, and chemical feed equipment. Duties include:

• Safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment in accordance with established plant operating procedures.

• Accurately reading and recording data, and reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, which indicate possible equipment danger.

• Identifying and correcting abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations.

• Performing the duties of a refuse overhead crane operator, from the control console, in the control room. The crane operator is responsible for mixing refuse in the pit, maintaining correct levels of refuse-fuel in the furnace charging hoppers of one or more boilers, maintaining a fire watch over the pit and associated areas, and periodically loading and monitoring refuse into an auxiliary shredder.
Position Requirements
Qualified candidates must possess five years previous experience with steam production boilers, associated support systems, and electric generating equipment, a high school education and /or formal technical or utility training.

Physical Requirements: This position typically requires climbing, crouching, hearing, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, walking, pinching, gripping, grasping, use of two hands, and excellent vision.
